Athenian Slop Vessel
(275-250 B.C.)
I know, I know - solid silver isn't technically crockery either. But it's really old - and
I do vomit in it sometimes. That's why I decided to include it.
Notice that the body is separated into four bands. The top two sport tongue and scale patterns,
respectively - while the third shows two panthers and a wild boar. Such compositions were common on
mass production Athenian slop vessels. In other words, I basically own an ancient Corningware
bedpan. How bourgeois of me!
