Patera Deep Dish
(330 B.C.)
This large dish comes from Apulia, where its highly ornamented, deep-dish style came to be known as "Patera."
You'll notice that
sitting in the center of the dish is Nike, winged goddess of victory. Now if you ask me, that is really weird,
because I never wear my Nikes when using this dish. In fact, I never even take my Nikes outside the
gym. I don't even like the thought of street dirt getting in all that porous shoe fabric - let alone little pieces of my
own barf!
